Due to unfavorable conditions, there will NOT be a prescribed burn Wednesday, November 9. Bluff Campground has reopened. Bluff and Firefly Trails will remain open. Staff is looking ahead for potential reschedule dates.

All park facilities, campgrounds, trails & canoe launches remain closed. Tropical storm force winds are extending outward of the storm center into the park & will strengthen as the storm moves ashore. See park website for the most current updates.

The Congaree River and Cedar Creek are both above flood stage. Paddling & backcountry camping are not recommended when flood conditions are present. Areas NOT affected include Visitor Center, campgrounds, picnic shelter, upland trails & elevated Boardwalk.

"How high is the water, ranger?" The Congaree River is rising & will remain above flood stage through the weekend. Most trails except the elevated Boardwalk, Bluff, Fireflies, and Longleaf Trails are currently flooded. Paddling and backcountry camping aren't recommended.
