Information and updates about Congleton Railway Station. Station managed by @northernassist Community run account. **OUR LAST SUNDAY TRAIN RAN ON 22nd SEP 24**
Disruption continues this morning at Manchester Piccadilly - the line is expected to reopen later this morning but services are likely to continue to be disrupted for some time - check before travelling!
🚨Our engineers are currently on site working to resolve the overhead wire damage at Manchester Piccadilly station
🚄We are sorry to passengers for the disruption this has caused and we are working to get people moving as soon as possible
@brfcbee1875 I’m afraid not. The RMT rest day working dispute rumbles on, the proposed resolution hasn’t yet been put to a members’ vote, and the reduced timetable still sees Congleton reduced to a bus replacement - currently scheduled to early August.
A reminder of the Piccadilly blockade starting this Saturday:
Also note that during this disruption, the 07:39 from Congleton to Manchester and 17:18 from Picc (18:04 at Congleton) will not run. All other trains operate at normal times to/from Stockport (for buses to Piccadilly)
Half Term Engineering Work:
From Saturday 14th to Sunday 22nd February, Network Rail is renewing the track layout at the southern throat of Manchester Piccadilly.
During this period, all trains at Congleton will start/terminate at Stockport with bus replacements into Manchester/

❌ Severe disruption this evening due to a combination of the weather and a failed train at Congleton earlier. The 1809 is running about 25L, the 1825 and 1909 are both cancelled - later trains are expected to run but may be similarly disrupted
