Thanks, I have a guy coming next week. It's not really as bad as I thought, although I cleaned A LOT of rust flakes and soot from in around the heat exchanger. The motor for the oil pump was making noise. I put a few drops of 3in1 oil on it while the new motor is on its way. I am sure I need at least a new nozzle if not the electrodes as well. Over all it's not too bad but crazy expensive to run in an old '50's house in the snow belt area around lake Erie.
@FrankBr05713205 This will go great on the rust belt with all of the salt! Instead of dealing with rusted brake lines that are decently easy to replace we'll have to deal with corroded connectors and wires!
@FrankBr05713205 What a bunch of bullshit! I just bought a '24 with the little ass 4 cylinder and it's going through more than a qt of oil between changes!
Not only do they not get recycled, most of these big projects get abandoned after the companies collect all of the subsidies and kickbacks they get. There are many of these sites with run down and broken panels just sitting and leaching heavy metals and toxins into the soil under them.
They are proposing cutting down 725 ACRES of forest for Town Line Solar across the Towns of Thompson and Forestburgh in Sullivan County, New York.
I don't think I've ever seen this much proposed forest-clearing for an ORES solar project. And I've seen some pretty messed up cases of 200-300 acres of forest felled for a form of energy in our climate that will only convert at 12-15% of its annual potential.
Remember that 1 acre = roughly the size of a football field.
They want to cut down 725 acres of forest. There's a lot of money in this project for the logger, which, interestingly enough, the current ORES Executive Director, Jason Zehr, has family business ties to state logging contracts.
When you consider that there are, on average, 614 live trees per forested acre in Upstate NY, that means this solar complex would result in the felling of 445,000 live trees.
For those who need a 7th grade science reminder, trees lower localized temperatures through transpiration. Trees are also an important part of mitigating "climate change" by removing CO₂ from the atmosphere through photosynthesis and storing carbon in trunks, roots, other vegetation, dead organic matter, and forest soils.
This has never been about "saving the climate" or improving the environment.
It's entirely about money and control.
Oh ok I just know that included something in the PACT act about it during the Biden admin. But it was only for folks there up to 1987 or something. Not sure what all alignments it covers though. Another crazy thing, I watched a documentary several years ago when this all started up that showed this contamination at MANY bases around the US abd they only talk about Lejeune in the case from my understanding!
@ImBreckWorsham Out of everyone in this administration he is the biggest let down in my eyes. I already knew Trump was shady but had my hopes up for this guy!
I'm from a small town in the middle of no where. It's pretty unheard of here to buy "starter" homes. When families can finally afford to buy a house around here it's a forever home. My grandparents house is still in he family as well as both of my parents (they divorced and each have their own). I never even heard of buying multiple homes till I joined the military and moved away for a while. I ended up coming back home to buy a cheaper home. I now have 17 acres on my main plot and an additional 60 acres that I'm the 4th generation on.
@concentriclaugh@Ford@ann_gibeaut Yup and they won't do a recall, just like all the Ford escapes with the internal coolant leaks that require an entire engine replacement! Hundreds of complaints and an actual TSB (several actually) released but still no recall!
That's pretty high mileage in a short time frame for a light duty truck. I'm guessing/betting there was a lot of load hauling with those miles. I saw your other reply saying it was serviced but probably not frequently enough for the amount of work it was doing. Also, nothing s built to last anymore, so there's that...I have 4 vehicles and 3 of them constantly need work!
Um I have a wife, kids, horse farm, 4 vehicles, and various farm equipment. I don't have the luxury of being "dead to the world" and pretty much every other dude I know is in the same boat. We just power through it. I also do all of the cooking in our family BTW. If I didn't we would starve!
@HorrorGorl It started on various platforms that would ban the videos or posts for using the correct term, so they had to change up the wording, since then I think it's just become a thing. Pretty sure it's still blocked on tiktok though.
@blackhawkce457 Well I mean we've be harassing them and threatening them and now bombing them for the last several decades. I'd be pretty pissed about that too.
Quit buying $400k homes and that'll solve most of your problems. People are afraid of buying an older house. "Oh then I'll have to fix it up and update it"... Why?! If it isn't broke why does it need updated. I bought a 2 story 1950's house from a private seller for $56k they only thing I "updated" was the flooring in the living room that I did myself for $600. Hell the mfg date on the oven is 1993 and still works fine. Looks like shit but who cares!
