Before sharing this banned video today, we did consider its content.

Truth is, this video is only banned in Ireland. It is not banned in UK or USA or EU because presumably it doesn't breach Youtube community standards in those jurisdictions.

Whilst the video is selective in its narrative, it doesn't appear to contain significantly fabricated content, and certainly doesn't appear to show unlawful content.

If the video were removed for legal reasons, then we wouldn't have shared it. But a removal at the behest of the Irish government only, which doesn't have an official or lawful role as censor, just invites curiosity.

Criticism from the UN Special Rapporteur on adequate housing, Koldo Casla, came as he rounded on new laws introduced in Ireland last month, which he claimed will impede the human rights of homeless people. ✍️ Wayne O'Connor

His letter to the Government said countries should test how reasonable it is “to drastically curtail speculative practices in the housing sector”.

Rent laws introduced by the Government this year were designed with foreign investors in mind. Housing Minister James Browne was part of a significant Irish delegation to attend a major real estate conference on the French Riviera earlier in the year as part of a push to lure big funds to Ireland.

These people are desperately seeking funding for life saving medication.

Politicians openly accused shop workers of racism and worse. Gardai still examining incident for potential criminality, but three months later, no arrests.

Irish woman (allegedly) gang-raped by two Muslim asylum seekers right in the centre of Galway city with the charged remanded in prison. Connacht Tribune is the only outlet to report the incident (belated RTE coverage uses the original Tribune report, but drops reference to the interpreter being Arabic).

Last week the Sunday Business Post reported how the State is propping up the housing market with €11.8 billion across 40 different schemes.

(this figure doesn't even include the billions spent on emergency accommodation and IPAS)

The Irish State is a control freak planning public campaigns warning women about “tradwife culture.”

The State makes us pay a deposit on every can and bottle, and queue to reclaim our own money.

The State is about to put 30cent onto the price of fuel for winter in the name of climate change.

Yet this enormous State won't provide emergency medicine or surgeries for sick children.

Any State that tries to control everything eventually becomes incapable of delivering the basics.

So the biggest fear I have:

As people experience the failures caused by endless State intervention they blame capitalism and demand even more State control.

So @HSELive has decided against reimbursing Skyclarys as they deemed it ‘not cost effective’. Which is exactly what they said about Kalydeco for people living with Cystic Fibrosis back in 2013. Kalydeco estimated to cost approximately €234,000 per person yearly.
Similar also to Spinraza which cost roughly €600,000 year 1 and then €380,000 a year after that.
We have a history of rejecting expensive orphan drugs at the first instance and then years later approving them. For people living with Friedreich’s Ataxia, many don’t have years to wait. There is no alternative available and there are not excuses for not approving this funding.
