Big news for the Midlands!
Connected Kerb has been selected to deliver over 1,700 on-street EV charging sockets across Worcestershire, as part of a massive regional push to supercharge electric vehicle infrastructure.
Working in partnership with Worcestershire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, and Rutland County Councils and with the incredible support of Midlands Connect, this initiative unlocks funding from the DfT’s LEVI fund alongside significant private sector investment to transform the region's network.
By expanding convenient on-street charging solutions, we're building a network that ensures drivers can charge up easily, wherever they live or travel. As part of the wider Midlands Connect programme, thousands of charging sockets will be rolled out across the region, making sustainable travel accessible for everyone, especially households without access to off-street parking.
Chris Pateman-Jones, CEO of Connected Kerb, said:
"We’re delighted to be working with Worcestershire County Council, alongside Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Rutland, on this important step to increase on-street EV charging across the county. As part of the wider Midlands Connect programme, more than 6,600 charging sockets will be delivered across the region, helping Worcestershire be part of a shared regional effort to make cleaner, more sustainable travel easier for everyone."
A huge thank you to all the partner councils and Midlands Connect for driving this forward.

The UK now has clearer, smarter rules for delivering on‑street EV charging. The new Street Works Permits guidance simplifies rollout, reduces admin and helps councils avoid long consultation bottlenecks that once slowed everything down.
This is a major unlock. It means more chargers in the ground, sooner, with less disruption. And it is exactly the shift needed to build a fairer national network that supports everyone who cannot charge at home.
