So many Indians are global CEOs, not because we are the smartest people on the planet.
There is a system that produces operators, not builders.
This isn’t about Indians being genetically smarter or IITs magically creating genius. It’s only about selection pressure. India is not a talent factory. India is a high-pressure talent filter.
Most Indians are born into middle class or lower middle class families. There is no safety net, no fallback plan, no cushion. From the day you’re born there is an unspoken contract. Do well or the whole family stays stuck.
Education isn’t optional. It’s survival, now add population. Five to ten lakh people fighting for a few thousand seats. Even after years of preparation, effort doesn’t guarantee success. You still have to win against insane odds.
What comes out of this system is not creativity. It’s endurance. People who can sit for long hours, delay gratification for a decade, operate under pressure without breaking, and don’t feel entitled to comfort.
That profile matters - Large global companies don’t reward raw brilliance at the top. They reward people who can survive complexity, politics, scale, and boredom for 20 to 30 years straight.
That’s why Indian origin leaders show up disproportionately in operator roles. CEOs, presidents, heads of massive systems, not founders.
They didn’t rise because they were the loudest or flashiest. They rose because they had already been trained by a brutal system that rewards consistency over brilliance.
Compare that to a child born in a developed country. There is pressure, yes. But there is also a safety net. More options. Less existential fear. That environment is great for creativity and risk taking. It produces founders and innovators.
India produces survivors who become operators. That’s the difference most people miss. And let’s be clear, this system is not something to romanticize.
For every one person who makes it, millions burn out. Talent gets wasted. Mental health gets crushed. The system is inefficient and cruel. But it does one thing extremely well. It filters for people who can endure.
That’s why Indians don’t dominate early stage innovation globally, but they dominate long-run leadership in established systems.
So no, Indians aren’t exceptional because of IQ. They’re exceptional because they were never allowed to be comfortable.
The uncomfortable question is not why this works. The real question is whether this is the only way we should be producing leaders. And whether the cost is worth it.
For a long time, I have changed my practice of caring for critically ill patients referred to me towards a more home-based hospice care approach - because right now, in Indian healthcare, dying inside hospitals is the biggest business. If doctors are sure the patient is not going to make it, they must offer them the option of dying with dignity in the comfort of their home, instead of escalating treatment and bankrupting families who live on the fringes of financial breakdown.
The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognizance of deeply distressing media reports regarding the abduction and brutal murder of a 10-year-old girl in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The minor girl, who had gone missing while playing near her residence, was later found dead near Kannampalayam tank.
Hon’ble Chairperson, NCW, Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar has written to the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, directing immediate, stringent, and time-bound action in the matter. The Commission has sought a detailed Action Taken Report (ATR) within seven days.
The ATR has been sought on the FIR registered in the matter, provisions invoked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and POCSO Act, arrest and custodial interrogation of the accused, post-mortem and forensic examination findings, and evidence collected including CCTV footage and digital surveillance used during investigation.
The Commission has also sought details regarding measures taken to provide psychological counselling, protection, and support to the grieving family, and has directed that the investigation be conducted with utmost sensitivity and urgency.
The National Commission for Women has strongly condemned the incident and stated that crimes involving brutal violence against minor girls are heinous in nature and must invite the strictest action under law. @tnpoliceoffl@pibchennai@NaduFor
#tamilnaduelection2026 I’m not questioning political party positions or public displays of support — that’s all part of politics. But have you noticed that even journalists, who are expected to remain neutral, seem to have subtly taken sides?
As society and public discussions evolve, the younger generation may increasingly feel the need to think critically, engage responsibly, and form thoughtful responses to important social and political questions in the future
#TNelection2026 - Knowingly or unknowingly, many young people in Tamil Nadu are being drawn into the growing influence of political discourse. While some may not yet have a clear understanding of politics, over time they are likely to become more aware and informed.
DMK was the first to foresee the hazards of #NEET and undertook a large-scale campaign against it.
After coming to power, we constituted a High-Level Committee headed by Justice A.K. Rajan to study the impact of NEET-based admission process. The Committee's report, based on extensive data analysis and inputs from students, parents, and the public, has been published and shared with various State Governments to expose NEET's anti-poor and anti-social justice nature.
Based on the recommendations in the report, a Bill seeking exemption from NEET was unanimously passed by the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. It is now awaiting Presidential assent, after an inordinate delay from the Tamil Nadu Governor's side.
As nationwide opposition to NEET grows due to the recent largescale discrepancies, we are sharing the report of Justice A.K. Rajan Committee in English and all major Indian languages for everyone to better understand the ill-effects of NEET.

⭐ Some considerations in treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease⭐
Weight loss (in those who are overweight/obese) is essential for reversing severe forms of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) called non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH - inflammation with fibrosis/scarring in liver) and early cirrhosis.
Weight loss is also impactful in controlling diabetes, high blood pressure and high lipids.
Aerobic workouts are central to burning fat.
But aerobic workouts along with strength-training works wonders.
Do not mistake strength training with weight training even though the former can be done using weights in a gym. Strength training can be done at home without equipment.
For people who have NAFLD or NASH or early NASH-cirrhosis and are overweight or obese with effort intolerance due to lack of stamina, poor energy levels and easy fatiguability due to reduced strength, and do not have the time to hit the gym, you do not need to hit the gym everytime. There are a lot of workouts that you can perform at home itself, with little guidance and improve strength, stamina, energy levels and eventually develop weight loss.
To start with, simple walks around or inside home with intermittent brisk walks, climbing stairs (really good if you are staying in an apartment) with intermittent brisk climbs, seated aerobic workouts for fat burning (an example here: https://t.co/iTDtVCgNmN) and home-based strength training without equipment (an example here: https://t.co/zEYCteMK95) are excellent options to get you started.
Once your strength and effort tolerance improves, then move on to weights to increase muscle mass, in the presence of an already reduced body fat fraction.
If you can spend just 30 minutes at home doing these everyday, the chances of you reversing NAFLD, NASH or early NASH-cirrhosis because of signficant weight loss and coming off many pills that you are consuming to control your metabolic diseases is quite high.

But remember, sometimes weight loss is not the only solution, but weight loss along with other metabolic diseases and lifestyle changes that are important - for example, using right medications to control diabetes, using thyroxine supplementation to improve low-functioning thyroid and calorie-deficit diet. The effect of weight loss related NAFLD/cirrhosis reversal also depends on age, persistence of diabetes and high blood pressure.

You have to be managed by both a physician (ideally a Hepatologist or a Gastroenterologist with specialization in Hepatology) and if possible, seek help from a certified trainer who will guide you and motivate you daily to perform mandated workouts. Management of NAFLD is not dependent on prescribing drugs alone. Many patients reverse NAFLD without any medicine use and only on lifestyle changes including dietary restrictions and aerobic workouts.

Appraisal meetingங்குறது ஒரு கே.பாலச்சந்தர் சினிமா மாதிரிதான். A happy opening, a twisted interval block, and a not-so-happy climax. 😅 Reply, What's the weirdest reason you ve ever heard in an appraisal meeting for a bad rating?
