Thank you Capp for your years of dedication to our club and the community - We wish you the very best in the future!
The idea that USL or USL League One teams and markets don’t have young players good enough to contribute is such nonsense.
Take the example of Richmond Kickers. They have five academy kids, Beckett Howell (‘05), James Sneddon (‘05), Griffin Garnett (‘06), Andrew Richman (‘07), and Grafton Kahl (‘08) who’ve been contributors to their team this season, two of them starters (Sneddon and Garnett).
This is also the club that gave significant playing time to FRESHMAN MAC Hermann Trophy finalist Nicholas Simmonds (‘06), who didn’t sign pro with the club and went to UVA.
Is this likely one of the better academies in the USL sphere? Sure, but the idea that USL academies and territories don’t have like 1 kid who is capable of playing with the first team is preposterous.
