🚨Today was my last day at @TheNorthernEcho!!🚨
It’s been a great experience, I’ve had the privilege of covering important stories, and I’ve made some brilliant friends.
I’m now going solo (and hopefully travelling too!) - I can be reached at [email protected]
🚨EXC: Family moved hundreds of miles from London to Ferryhill where they found a property with broken windows and graffiti outside. They were told by a neighbour it had previously been boarded up after criminal use.
They are now being intimidated at night by men in balaclavas.
Speaking to the manager of the @FHLadderCentre she described how the process has been going on for years.
‘This problem has already happened.’
With Ferryhill full she thinks that is why other areas of the county are now noticing more London families.

EXC: More concerning findings about families being moved to County Durham from London.
Charity leaders and councillors believe that 10% of the #Ferryhill population have been relocated up North by London Borough Councils.
🚨VOTING IS LIVE FOR THE NMA AWARDS🚨
I’m so proud that my investigation into illegal vapes has been shortlisted this year, please give it a vote! (Or else I become a double award-losing journalist 😭).

Today's @TheNorthernEcho front page is the latest on my 'Hospices in Crisis' work
Last week, I visited Teesside Hospice to speak with care users, staff, and chief executive Mike Thornicroft about the 'vital' charity and the future of the sector
Over the moon that my vapes investigation has been shortlisted for the Making a Difference awards! Thank you to everyone who contributed. More coming soon 👀
BREAKING: This investigation has taken weeks to finally bring to light. Vulnerable people are being moved from London up to County Durham with absolutely no support for them when they arrive.

Heartwarming scenes in #Middlesbrough this morning as the community rallies together after the shocking disorder yesterday
I looked into the number of empty homes in the North East and was shocked to find we have 50,000 in the region.
These are homes that could be used to help young people onto the property ladder or house the homeless.
