We bid a fond farewell to Firefighter Dave Bell from Consett Whites tonight, as he works his final night shift👨‍🚒CFO Errington said “Dave has been a fantastic firefighter who has served our communities well over the last 30 years & we wish him a long, happy & healthy retirement!"

Fire crews are still working to extinguish the remaining waste at the site of the Old Eldon Brickworks. Plant machinery continues to separate the waste while firefighters extinguish it section by section. @DurhamCouncil @EnvAgency are assisting. Thank you for your patience

Durham Green Watch were quick to raise the alarm tonight when they spotted a barn on fire to the rear of Durham Fire Station. 3 appliances & a Targeted Response Vehicle from Durham & Spennymoor stations are currently fighting the fire which is approx.1000 tonnes of hay in a barn.
