@GrumpyEclipse I think it's mainly designed for comfort rather than practicality. It's possible the masks give a white HUD that show direction and how many kills they get per extermination.

@AlexByBel @MonikaAlscher Lute is the type of person whose job measures her self-worth, Adam gave her that and maybe the first time a man has actually paid attention to her in a major way. All Lute was, is a more effective killer compared to other exorcists and she never questioned Adam once.

@cluuuster Even if she did, she'd most likely spend most of her time in Adam's office anyway. One thing that always bothered me is that she doesn't have a visible rank to show she's a lieutenant. Only that she has a slightly different LED mask.
