@geerlingguy I finally got a fiber ISP in my area. I quickly learned they had no ipv6, as a modern Linux kept occasionally resolving hostnames to an ipv6 address and then failing to connect (yes, od course it was DNS).
BTW, dnsmasq has a nice option to filter out quad-a results.
@phoronix@AMD@AIatAMD@AMDRyzen@AMDRadeon I literally just jumped ship from Ubuntu LTS to Arch on my @FrameworkPuter Desktop because firmware packages are so old on Ubuntu LTS that a lot of newer ROCm stuff just doesn't work.
I had been using Ubuntu since I do work on it and needed InTune support.
This is outrageous and infuriating.
On July 13, 2026 Microsoft is intentionally bricking Microsoft Office 2019 for Mac.
It's important to note that this is not "Subscription-based Software".
This is purchased software. Mac users bought a "permanent" license for Microsoft Office 2019 (for a one-time price of $149.99), with the understanding that they then can use that software forever.
But, in a little over a month, Microsoft will be putting that purchased software into "reduced functionality mode"... prohibiting all users from creating new documents or editing existing ones.
There is absolutely no excuse for this sort of deeply unethical behavior from @Microsoft.
@geerlingguy@OpenSauceLive As a long time viewer, I thought your last video title was a little over the top/clickbaity. Framework and Apple have very different audiences. One isn't going to kill the other.
Nice present for your nephew, tho. Best wishes to him!
@jakkuh_t I'd still be with plex if they hadn't completely retargeted their product to be a backdoor to their new business model of selling ad-laden streaming services.
@politicalmath Neither federal, state, nor local govt should be involved in marriage. If your religion allows it, great. If the govt wants to make a construct which allows any two people to share a tax burden, wonderful. But the two concepts shouldn't be related.
@JenMsft In the X11 days of Linux, moving windows with the Alt key was standard behavior. Funny when what's old becomes new again.
Alternate take: wayland has taken so much from Desktop Linux users.
