It's his first. The first is always one of the toughest, because you don't know what to expect. Telling him is all well and good, but it never truly prepares anyone for the experience.

That's fair. Unfortunately it'll probably be a tough one next year. Shirou comes of age, so all the demons in the area will react to the change very violently.
