Fox had 44 touches in the second half, the most of any Spur. Only 5 touched the paint. San Antonio scored 0.387 points per chance out of his touches. He shot 2-of-6 w/ 2 turnovers when defended by OG.
No one for the Spurs attempted more than six shots against any match-up.
@NoaDalzell I usually agree with you, but at some point we have to acknowledge the optimized Knicks simply have more talent/upside than the current Celtics roster.
@jakeissenberg RHJ and Baylor are more neutral defenders with more polished offensive bags, but one of the Celtics’ biggest long-term concerns as the J’s get older is maintaining that relentless physicality on the perimeter. Especially with DWhite slowing down. Walsh brings that.
@jakeissenberg I see Walsh as a significantly more impactful defender at a much younger age. He helps win the possession battle and is showing real progress as a shooter and finisher through traffic.
@DaneMooreNBA Listened to the pod. There was a lot of smoke for Randle, but not much for Ant and he’s the face of the franchise. Everyone follows the leader.
The Celtics don't need a summer blockbuster to deliver their next championship. And they shouldn't break up Tatum and Brown, IMO.
Instead, they could use two of the most valuable tools at their disposal to cultivate a better path forward. https://t.co/oAwwKVwisE
@csl_duke Tatum & Brown have ceilings as playoff offensive initiators that mostly shows up against strong playoff defenses. One of the main reasons the Celtics are so 3 pt heavy.
I'm definitely a big Mazzulla fan, but he overthought the starting lineup in this one, I think. Garza, Scheierman AND Harper is a wild choice. Felt panicky to me.
Once again it’s easy to point at Boston missing threes, but I’m not sure if they even had another choice with the way the roster is constructed.
The offense becomes stagnant bc they lack the creation talent to balance out paint touches into horizontal pass movements.
