This Saturday, Knox Trail 250 will continue its sequenced program throughout Massachusetts and arrive in Roxbury!
An outdoor precession will begin in Roxbury at 2:00 p.m., leading to a 3:00 p.m. commemorative program and immersive light show at First Church in Roxbury.
The event will also feature outdoor activations at the Dillaway Thomas House (183 Roxbury St.), including reenactors who will speak about and portray the experience of Black Americans in the Revolution in “Patriots of Color." All activities are free and open to the public.
Last Saturday, Knox Trail 250 marched to Cambridge! The commemoration included a short procession of horse-drawn sleds, 1776 militia units, artillery unit, and fifes and drums and an indoor program.
Local dignitaries and historians spoke about the historical significance of Henry Knox Noble Train of Artillery of 1776, and recognized all of the communities along the Knox Trail.
If you want to be in the center of the action, there are discounted hotel rates. But don't wait - the deal ends tomorrow!
