Respectfully Scott we absolutely do not want to see Mitch McConnell back in the Senate. He is bad news for America and needs to retire and pass the baton to younger healthier candidates. Politicians should not stay in office until they die. That is bad for America. I wish him a speedy recovery. But he needs to be gone from the Senate.

The Trump DOJ brief, signed by Solicitor General D. John Sauer in May 2026, recommends the Supreme Court deny certiorari (i.e., decline to take the case). The case involves New York's now-repealed COVID-19 vaccine mandate for healthcare workers (Section 2.61), which allowed medical but not religious exemptions.

Critically, the brief explicitly states the opposite of what the tweet implies on the core legal principle:

How about all the American citizens graduating as students this May and needing jobs? Send the Iranian graduates back to Iran. The war will be over and Iran will need all these bright young stars to help rebuild their country. We don’t need them in America. We have our own citizens that need to be taken care of.
