Day 3 of the @GirlsFirstFund Grantees Convening continued with the Economic Empowerment training. It wasn't all "lectures" though, we learned lessons through games that also kept the intense sessions fun.

My girls' team from Dagwach emerged winners in the Community category of the #OtukeneMemorial7s, & also took the MVP award, Top try scorer & Golden Boot. My boys' team came 2nd but no individual awards. I'm now celebrating like a champion. π€

This Saturday, Kitgum Rugby Club will host the Otukene Memorial 7s sponsored by @RugbyTackling; both boys & girls will participate with a total of 14 teams!! This yearβs event will see the intro of teams from Mucwini & Akwang sub-counties. More info to follow!
We will also use 500 USD to buy seeds (sunflower, soy beans and sim sim). They will be provided to our peer groups that have children with epilepsy (nodding disease).

In a couple of weeks, we will finally be going home to Uganda again
It is hight time; especially to spend some time with my team at Rugby Tackling Life and we have great plans! The impact RTL has on girls and women in Uganda through our amazing sport is out of this world already!
Can we raise 1200 Euro to make this outreach happen? It covers the training for the health workers at the health centre, community dialogues, Menstruation Hygiene Management (MHM), the provision of condoms and more services.
no education on SRH and girls are selling themselves off to buy sanitary products, there is still a lot to be done. And yes, you have read that right; all of the above is real and happening every day.
We are planning an outreach in Njeru in Eastern Uganda for two days where health workers will be sensitised on how to handle adolescents especially on SRH (Sexual Reproductive Health) because as long as young girls are married off, too many young girls become mums because theβ¦
For years now, RTL has gone above and beyond to educate the communities around the Rugby players, too. I have seen it many times and I am very much looking forward to the time I will be accompanying RTL during my time in Uganda soon.
