After taking a ton of (justified) criticism for his recruiting, Mark Pope has just had his biggest week ever as Kentucky’s coach. Lands the highest Ranked transfer and High School commit of his career within 5 days
That’s huge for Mark and a good sign going forward
Mark Pope took a golden opportunity to bury his opponent and turned it into a halftime deficit.
The substitutions, the lack of any offense and the inability to recognize a trap is why we are here. #BBN
I have seen Pope out-coach multiple final 4 teams
He’s lead too many 17+ point comebacks to count
He’s had injury ridden teams down multiple starters beat ranked teams
And then he has games where he just doesn’t really do anything for 10+ minute stretches
So baffling
Five assistant coaches and an analytics war room and @KentuckyMBB still puts losing units on the floor together. UK needs a 'get back' coach to stop the substitution.
Up 30–18 with 7:30 left in the first half and Kentucky down 12 at the half. 12!
Pathetic stuff from this group in March. Same goofy stuff we saw in November, and December, and January, and February…
It’s not 96… you don’t have 10 NBA players…
Play your best guys… don’t play 4 subs at once…
Now your starters are out of rhythm and A&M is hot …
This deficit is on Mark Pope…
This is as epic of a first half collapse as I could ever, EVER remember Kentucky having.
We effectively have lost this game in the last 6 minutes of the first half. Hard to picture the Cats winning at this point.
27-2 run by A&M. One timeout from Mark Pope.
