@ArtofSpongebob Do you have any thoughts on Dan Povenmire saying SpongeBob is a prepubescent kid when he was shown the theory. Thought it was weird someone who was on the show is saying that he’s straight up a child
@wuhwwormwow Shared a similar sentiment a few months ago, though I approached it with the mindset that their current business model doesn’t feel sustainable long term.
@legowegogo This is less about Gameoverse or even Gaslight District, its reflecting this audience sentiment that indie pilots need to stuff all of their ideas into one episode for some reason. Even some of the replies to this very tweet are saying that
Imagine in the first episode of Gravity Falls, instead of gnomes, Bill and Gideon show up, Bill enters Stan’s mind, and after Bill is defeated Stan goes to the basement to start the portal. Like damn we just got here what’s going on
@saltydkdan Not to be rude but this feels like an excuse for lousy writing. Pilots becoming ep 1 have been a thing forever, take a look a Futurama’s. It does a great job establishing everything essential without feeling bloated or having weird pacing, and it’s shorter than Gameoverse too.
Pilot: This might be the only opportunity we have to convince you our show is worth your time so we’re really gonna sell it to you
Episode 1: We are making this with the mentality that more episodes are guaranteed, so we don’t gotta convince you that hard with the first outing
@Icefisher10 An introduction to your show’s word, cast, their dynamics. Laying out the essentials for the audience to get a feel for what’s they can expect in a full series. A lot of people think pilots are just a series of “vibes” that pinky swear they’ll be good if they make more episodes
@Danaturr The pilot for SpongeBob *is* Help Wanted. It was even initially recorded with everyone saying “Spongeboy” cause the show was still gonna be called Spongeboy Ahoy when they were making it. It’s also does everything Josh said in just 8 minutes
@JAYMYSTER_ It’s not all the time but Cory Walker wouldn’t shy away from drawing some luscious lips, which I thought was funny compared to Ottley who kind of constantly has them scrunched looking. I was aping that second pic
@alienwacc I get it’s supposed to give some personality to the style but I think it looks too busy. It isn’t great to have so much noise on a character’s face. I think it’d be nice to keep the hatching but over a purplish grey instead of pure white.
