A Louisiana resident who identified himself as Marshawn delivered a fiery, emotional speech to lawmakers during a state Senate hearing over redistricting Monday, accusing Republicans of trying to “cheat” Black voters out of political power.
“I speak of Alex Pretti who died as he lived, caring for the stranger. ICE shot him ten times because he did something they could never fathom doing themselves.
He extended his arm towards a stranger. Not to push her down, but to help her up.”
Look for the helpers.
This is Alan Page protesting in Minneapolis today. Alan was a Minnesota Viking, is in the NFL Hall of Fame and is a retired Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. RESPECT!
In a speech yesterday, Pete Hegseth told service-members that “diversity is not your strength.” This is Thomas Begay, one of the two living Navajo Code Talkers from World War II, who Hegseth previously removed from DOD websites.
RETWEET if you stand with Begay against Hegseth!
No one should be forced to flee, nor exploited or mistreated because of their situation as foreigners or people in need! Human dignity must always come first!
I am now the most banned author in the United States--87 books. May I suggest you pick up one of them and see what all the pissing & moaning is about? Self-righteous book banners don't always get to have their way. This is still America, dammit.
BREAKING: Trump has ordered the removal of information on slavery at multiple national parks in an effort to scrub them of “corrosive ideology.
This famous photo is one of them.
Please paste this image everywhere. Don't let them erase history.
Information at the President’s House Site in Philadelphia, where George Washington kept slaves is also being removed.
After yet another Colorado school shooting, an eighth grader named Winston tells @KDVR: “I only moved here a few months ago, and I didn’t think this would happen so soon.” So soon. This is the heartbreaking effect gun violence is having on our kids. They now just EXPECT it.
I think it might actually be linked to the fact a 19 year old like the shooter at my high school can threaten to shoot up his high school multiple times, have the police called to his house a dozen times prior to the shooting and still legally purchase an AR-15
Iceland is the world’s biggest consumer of SSRIs. They’ve had less than 10 gun homicides since 2020; in the US, there have been over 90,000.
Japan is one of the largest video game markets in the world. They have 10 gun deaths per year; the US has nearly 50,000.
It’s the guns.
“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped…”

I just left a visit to the ICE detention facility in Eloy. There’s a lot to absorb, but I want to tell you about a woman I met named Maria because her story really shows how messed up all this is.
She’s been in the U.S. for twenty years. Has no criminal history. She was detained at the Marine Base in Yuma. Her son is a U.S. Marine stationed there. He’s married to another Marine. And they have a two-year-old kid, Maria's grandson.
Maria was in Yuma because her son was leaving for training, her daughter-in-law had a hip surgery, and so they needed help watching her grandson. When she came back to the base after a grocery run, she was detained and reported to CBP. Now, she’s being held in an ICE facility.
I remember how proud my parents were watching my brother and I get sworn into the Navy, so I asked her if she had been there when her son graduated from boot camp. She broke down in tears. All she could say was how proud of her son she was.
That stuck with me. And it should stick with you. And if I have anything to do about it, it will stick with this administration. This woman loves America. Her son is risking her life for America – for us. She is the exact type of person we should want in this country. My team and I will keep fighting for her and her family.
These Americans served with honor for more than a decade. Put their lives on the line. Trump fired them, just for being who they are - and now is denying retirement benefits our nation promised them for their service.
Treating troops this way is dishonorable, unfair, and harmful to our national security.
🚨 BREAKING: ICE secretly deported Luis Leon, an 82-year-old torture survivor and U.S. legal resident of nearly 40 years, after he walked into an immigration office to replace a lost green card.
Instead of processing the request, ICE handcuffed him, detained his wife for 10 hours, and later told the family; through a fake “lawyer,” that he was dead.
Turns out, ICE quietly transferred him through a Minnesota detention center and dumped him in Guatemala, a country he has zero ties to. There’s no deportation paperwork, no public record. His family only found him alive after relatives in Chile tracked him to a Guatemalan hospital.
Leon suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart issues. The DOJ is now under fire, but this is the Trump-era immigration machine still in motion—cruel, unaccountable, and lawless.
If they can disappear an elderly, law-abiding U.S. resident…
They can disappear anyone.
In 1933, before the ovens, Germany opened a facility at Dachau. It was called a "protective custody center". People were held without trial, were separated from their families, were kept behind barbed wire. At first, the government insisted it wasn’t that bad.
