Currently, Network Rail want to build a stepped footbridge at the end of Yorkfield Lane, despite the fact that this will effectively deny access to those less physically able and to cyclists (for the proposed Copmanthorpe to Bishopthorpe cycle path). Your opinion matters!
Tomorrow (Monday) Network Rail will be showing their proposals for replacing the level crossing at the York end of the village at a presentation at the Methodist Church. From 5:00 to 7:00pm residents will be able to ask questions and give their feedback on the proposals.
@JulianSturdy Network Rail still pushing ahead with plan to replace crossing with stepped footbridge at Becketts Xing with no disabled access or thought of cycle options to link to Bishopthorpe in future. @GreenerLars @CopmanthorpePC@CityofYork of one mind that accessible route essential.
