@MacfarlandAj @StephenKing Brevity is fine; saying brevity is the soul of wit in response to the claim that Twitter doesn't allow complex complete thoughts within its character limit is not a sufficiently relevant claim or response.

I think the struggle and the possibility to fail in a way that brings with it true consequences is an exceptionally helpful motivator in society.

@D_M_S_T @limo_pilot @MichelleHillith @USProgressives I'd like to think I'm a pretty sharp fella, and I like learning new things and 'moving forward' intellectually; however, if we had UBI to any significant degree, I know I'd most likely contribute less to society, using that freedom selfishly... probably in a library.

@D_M_S_T @limo_pilot @MichelleHillith @USProgressives I'm not saying that from the view of economic theory, I'm saying it from consistent experience with people in those positions. I worked for min wage when I was younger and I know people who are still in their same role 15 years later.

There are surely exceptions, but a heavy % of people in entry level jobs their whole lives don't want to learn

It's also true that Cruz, as much as I dislike him, didn't try to have her killed.

She conflates claims of 'being a survivor' to avoid being criticized for lying when she does.
