@litcapital Understandable take... but imagine the number of lives that were saved by preventing cover for gang shootings, rioting, and mass theft along a larger parade's path.
@texan_angler@Schwartz_Wx Purposely driving into a situation that you could have actively avoided, only to break laws to escape the situation you put yourself into, SHOULD COME WITH LEGAL PENALTIES. "Context matters"
@206Hoops Color me shocked that a city would evict it's massive homeless population from anywhere remotely near WORLD CUP tourism spots. lol Don't be a fucking idiot.
@KingGoldark@DrewPavlou "Cheering" in this sense, signaled to the remaining Iranian regime that if they could simply hold out long enough, the US would eventually have to relent. Allies of ours, more concerned with the status quo, effectively prevented an outcome of Iranians seeking negotiations.
@hddbdvdh@GopherInsight@CoachGilly6 Watching it (which I did) and seeing ONE SINGLE INSTANCE of a false penalty being rescinded doesn't fix the fucking problem with the sports I just mentioned. Professional soccer and basketball are plagued by flops/dives and have become impossible to watch. Period.
@GopherInsight@CoachGilly6 The NBA and professional tier soccer are both unwatchable for the exact same reasons. The World Cup just happens to be the biggest stage, so every time it happens you trick yourself into believing flopping work happen every 3 seconds... and yet it disappoints everytime.
@indycarpodcast Peak viewership was only 1.08 million about 1 hour into the race. It would have only dipped a further 70k to the final ratings number. Might have stayed just over a million if they'd started an hour earlier.
@bigyelohedfones@RCritic20 Gateway tickets were being sold for around 10 dollars in the week leading up to the race. Might as well be free, and they only managed to fill half of the open grandstands. Point being, Gateway is no where near as interesting as an IndyCar race on the streets of the Capitol.
@Chad__15 Buddy... no... They hardly sold any seats for Gateway and were literally giving them away for free. You could get grandstand tickets for 14 dollars on raceday. Phoenix ticket holders also had event access to O'Reilly and Cup. Milwaukee is the only one standing on its own.
