“As one of the special witnesses of the name of Christ in all the world, I testify that He is the Son of the living God. Jesus is the Christ—our atoning Savior and Redeemer. This is His Church, restored to bless God’s children and to prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Lord.” —Russell M. Nelson (1924–2025).
With sorrow we announce that Russell M. Nelson, beloved President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has died. He was 101 — the oldest president in the history of the Church.

@dodgematthews7 I think we have both met our fair share of underprivileged white kids, and I don’t think they should have any less of a chance than underprivileged POC. The more we remove race from the equation entirely and strive to live in a “colorless” world, the more normal it becomes. IMO.
@dodgematthews7 Certainly a fan of under privileged folk getting a helping hand if desired.
But for 1: I think the more successful people live off an attitude of go get it done yourself, not taking handouts.
2: if that’s not you, I think the only fair way to do it is by wealth.
“Charley, a new retiree-greeter at Wal-Mart, just couldn't seem to get to work on time. Every day he was 5, 10, 15 minutes late. But he was a good worker, really tidy, clean-shaven, sharp-minded and a real credit to the company and obviously demonstrating their "Older Person Friendly" policies.
One day the boss called him into the office for a talk. "Charley, I have to tell you, I like your work ethic, you do a bang-up job when you finally get here; but your being
late so often is quite bothersome."
"Yes, I know boss, and I am working on it."
"Well good, you are a team player. That's what I like to hear".
"Yes sir, I understand your concern and I will try harder".
Seeming puzzled, the manager went on to comment, "I know you're retired from the Armed Forces. What did they say to you there if you showed up in the morning late so often?"
The old man looked down at the floor, then smiled. He chuckled quietly, then said with a grin, "They usually saluted and said,
Good morning, Admiral, can I get your coffee, sir"?
