I’m sorry to share that James passed on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

If you’ve been around the DFS world for any length of time, chances are you crossed paths with James. With his sharp takes, contagious energy, or the genuine way he connected with people.

Growing the DFS industry and including everyone (even the guy in the back) was his true passion. He was community-driven, unfiltered, and always real. A true 1 of 1 person. His worst fear was letting everyone down, and even during the worst of days he would grin and bear it to keep that promise to himself.

I also want to include this message from his wife to all of you.

"Thank you to everyone that sent messages of encouragement to Degen during his ordeal. Your kind words, prayers, and good vibes meant more to him than anyone truly knew. My sincerest gratitude to all of you for making him feel loved and supported."

For now, we’d love to hear your stories, memories, and anything else you’d like to share in his honor.

He meant so much to all us and I know we’ll all miss him dearly, Thank you.

Starting treatment 8 of 8 today of the full nuclear chemo (54 hour, full dose, max poison).

Then off to Houston in 11 days for new scans 😅

I will send out a big update once I have that news. Just wanted to give an update and thank you for all the support 👊🏻

I just wanted to thank you all for the support of the limited number of streams I was able to do in 2024 due to my health. However, this was the final PGA stream of the year for me.

The goal is to be back more full time with the stream in 2025. But if I have learned anything these past 5 months, you cant predict the future. So we will just take it one day at a time and see what the future holds for me.

Thanks for the prayers, support, and energy this year, it’s more appreciated than you know 😊

When you take life one day at time & just live for today, it makes handling all the BS life throws at you so much easier.

Bagged ~130K (60k starting).

I was the chip leader for my table for the day. Pretty impressive seeing at 5 Euro pros at my table (4 of the 5 were neckbeards 😒😜)
