The mass murder of Jews in Australia today didn’t come from out of nowhere.
It comes from constant inculcation and tolerance of antisemitism, which is just as present in Canada as in Australia.
This massacre is *exactly* what “globalize the intifada” means.
And this is why Israel exists: so that there can be at least one place in the world where Jews can defend themselves from history’s most durable and pernicious form of hatred.
To those mourning lost loved ones: may their memory be a blessing.
To those celebrating Chanukah: you are not alone. May the light of the chanukiah, and the victory & miracle it represents, give you hope.
I lived through Oct 7th. Never imagined I’d see this horror in Australia.
Bullet grazed my head. Doctors said miracle survived, but will make recovery.
Tonight is 1st night of Chanukah. The forces of darkness and hate will never triumph. We will prevail.

The warning signs were there.
Synagogues torched.
Jewish homes and businesses vandalized.
Jews abused and assaulted.
Today it was Sydney. Tomorrow it will be somewhere else.
Any government that doesn't resolutely combat antisemitism—or, worse, contributes to it—is complicit.
As we mourn the dead at Bondi Beach we should remember that these blameless people have been killed just because of who they are. It is a long time since Jewish people faced this kind of horror.
Antisemitism is a light sleeper.
This is what it means when they say “Globalize the Intifada”.
If we don’t stop them from targeting Jewish neighbourhoods and shooting at Jewish schools, the next step is to shoot actual people.
I stand with my friends in Australia & the Jewish community.
Just going to leave this here. I’m tired of warning people about what they were normalizing. ISIS flags on the bridge, the Sydney opera house protest. Literally everyone I know saw this coming.
A bullet struck @Ostrov_A in the head at the Bondi beach Hanukkah party he was attending with his wife and kids. He saw people falling all around him:
“I survived October 7. We lived in Israel for the last 13 years. We came here only two weeks ago to work with the Jewish community to fight antisemitism. We’ve lived through worse, we’re going to get through worse, and we’re going to get the bastards who did this.”
It’s just a matter of time before something like this happens here in Canada, the way the anti-Israel, pro-Islamist thugs are given free reign by lawmakers, the Crown and police

On this dark anniversary, we must stand with Israel’s victims in the only way that is meaningful - by praying for the hostages and supporting Israel’s right to achieve an unconditional victory over its military enemies.
