@BrishawnS @kevinmyoung But that’s not how substitutionary atonement works. It’s either 100% Jesus or 100% you. There’s no mixing of the two. If even one atom of you and your performance counts toward your salvation (or the maintaining of your salvation) then you will not be saved.

@BrishawnS @kevinmyoung The context of 1 John 3 is law. An unsaved person is still under the law and therefore still sins because they haven’t believed solely on the Son yet. A saved person cannot sin because they are no longer under the law.
