Last December I finally read Siddhartha. It lived up to the hype. This really connected with my inner voice. Though I’m sure if I had read it earlier in my life it would not have had as much impact. Much of the meaning would have been overlooked.
My mind was drawn to this portrayed call to adventure in the beginning of Siddhartha’s journey. It was this parallel idea I had experienced before in a game as powerful speech made by the protagonist:
“We are free to follow our own path. There are those who will take that freedom from us, and too many of you gladly give it. But it is our ability to choose – whatever you think is true – that makes us human... There is no book or teacher to give you the answers, to show you the path. Choose your own way! Do not follow me, or anyone else.”
Wisdom differs from intellect. Wisdom can not be taught because it’s personally experienced and internalized. We all must go out on our own to discover our wisdom and enlightenment.
TLDR: delerious ramblings from a night shift worker.
