8 is the perfect number. All great teams get a chance to settle it on the field. No undefeated teams or 1-loss teams with a legit resume get left out.

But every game still matters.

Also there’s just enough room for slip ups where a 2-loss team with a strong schedule is keeping an eye on the teams ahead of them.

At 24 we have 8-4 teams getting in.
