@micheal_olainn Dont forget distraction should be: "Government scrambles to distance itself from triple lock vote by attacking ad intended to teach about consent"
1st it was the ad & now its Ryan Tubridy potentially running for Fianna Fail. Do you know what has gotten almost no coverage though 🤔 the fact the Irish government bulldozed through the removal of the #TripleLock to continue to erode our #neutrality#AskThePeople
@BarryAndrewsMEP Without UN approval any foreign interventions by Ireland would merely be as an appendage to NATO or to the EU's military agency. A clear cut rejection of neutrality in conflicts between major powers.
Social Democrats TD Gary Gannon has said that the decision of the Minister for Justice to remove an ad which sought to promote discussions about consensual hugs sets a "dangerous precedent".

For two decades our organization has been at the forefront of this conversation. Our speakers are made up of many ranks from law enforcement with extensive experience. For too long we have said that the next wave of substances will come and they will be more potent, more harmful, and with less and less quality control in the market. This cycle will repeat until we do something different:
‘A wave of homemade, synthetic drugs sweeps US and deepens crisis’

@SeanKellyMEP You didn't reform it tho, i was open to that, you removed it, against the will of the public. The moment troops are sent abroad outside of a UN mandate, Ireland will no longer be neutral.
@BarryAndrewsMEP@sinnfeinireland Forget sinn fein forget the brits or the yanks or the ruskis... We want our government to reflect the wishes of our people...simple as that. Your undermining of our neutrality is unacceptable. It's your responsibility to represent the public not overrule them.
Today, myself and @Stephen63224725 collect the last of Harvey’s ashes.
From there, we head in to the Dáil to listen to the statements on the inquiry in to Children’s Health Ireland. @CarrollJennifer@SimonHarrisTD you both know what was agreed to, and you both know the current recommendations mean this inquiry won’t be fit for purpose if you push on with it as is.

Do we take from this that it is the Minister for Justice's position that it is legitimate to force children to receive unwanted intimate contact from adults?
@CathCallaghanTD Without a UN mandate, our troops are simply not peacekeepers if deployed abroad. You can agree with becoming party to a conflict, but you can't also claim that they are peacekeepers.
@Conor1960@CiardhaMorgan If you agree with peace enforcement missions or stabilisation missions that's all well and good, you are entitled to your opinion. But the Irish public are not onboard with being party to a conflict.
@Conor1960@CiardhaMorgan That's true but as you said yourself, the UNSC is paralysed, that is why there will never be any more peacekeeping. So the removal of the triple lock (rather than reform it) shows clearly the government want to send people on non-peacekeeping missions.
