Had a conversation with my fuel supplier today about e85 to the farm. No previous questions on e85 from anyone else. He said frankly, I sell a lot more regular unleaded to the farm than e10. How can you as a corn producer not support what you grow and deliver to an ethanol plant?
For some context/clues around WH Ag event next week, invites went out in early March and include groups with no real connection to biofuels. Groups are being asked to bring some 20 farmers supportive of Trump's agenda, sources tell me.
The @EthanolRFA conference kicked off this morning with a reminder that @POTUS supports E15 and blaming congress for the lack of action. Worth noting that the WH didn't put any pressure on lawmakers to pass E15 legislation earlier this year.
Assistant Administrator Aaron Szabo used his time at the @EthanolRFA conference to chastise the press for reporting on the RFS in a style akin to TMZ. Szabo has long been critical privately of press reports, often using colorful language to attack reporters in private industry meetings.
I have always found it ironic that folks in the biofuel industry say that Trump "inherited" a backlog of small refinery waiver applications. While it's true that Biden administration refused to make any decisions, it was Trump 1.0 that greatly expanded the SRE waiver program that has led to all the industry strife over its implementation.
@5150Farms@tl_herbert@SenRohl The cost of electricity is going up drastically the way it sits now. We have too many power plants at the end of their life expectancy. Having data centers will help pay for the new generation needs of power companies and can be used to offset some of our share.
Note the facts below. Amazing what happened last week given the Coalition that was built amongst ethanol, most refiners, agriculture and fuel retailers that these few could blow it up. Given their healthy situation, time to get E15 done for the greater good. These opinions are my own!
E-15: Trump never weighed in when the issue was discussed in House Committee. New 'council', w/ competing ag & energy interests, formed to hash it out. Trump, in Iowa, promises to sign it when it hits his desk probably knowing that will never happen.
well played
As a candidate for President, I pledged to support our ethanol industry and to fight for the American farmer like no President has ever fought before.

In multiple interviews, stakeholders told me that the White House did not exert any political pressure on lawmakers to pass year-round E15. If WH did, the bill would've likely passed.
@bl_ag_inc Determine how much expansion you anticipate and that’ll help weigh the decision. 480v allows for much smaller wire because of the lower amp draw. Power consumption doesn’t really change but reliability of motors and such does. We have all single phase control wiring.
@bl_ag_inc I went through a similar eval about few years ago. Switching to 3 phase was great and had the general farm rate for awhile. Then I was using enough power they switched me to “large power” so have demand charges and try and manage my demand peaks.
So, you want American made products, even if they are more expensive than cheaper imports?
Yes Dave.
But now you want to import cheap beef because the American beef is too expensive?
That’s correct Dave.
@GoddessofGrain Does Ag have Walz derangement syndrome now? He brings up points that we’ve always said we believe in. Markets, concern over rural health care and health insurance affordability. Yet, it’s “attack the messenger”?
