I have not been happy with Twitter for sometime and glad to see those who I follow are moving over. I am now on Mastodon. I will taper my use down here: @[email protected]
@thesiswhisperer Reddit has been my go to for years now. there are a lot of academics on there but I started my own community called AustralianAcademics because there are a lot of Americans. I have one subscriber and have done little to get it going though!
@amyjccuddy Becoming Ms. Burton by Susan Burton and Cari Lynn. I am not sure it changed the way I see the world, but it helped me to understand the ongoing impact of the war on drugs more deeply.
@thesiswhisperer I think it is worth having the information for PhD students. I have finished my PhD and have your books but I don't visit your blog that often anymore. I liked what you did with your patreon, which I am still a subscriber of.
@thesiswhisperer and @jasondowns need to stop apologising for going full nerd 🤣 during On The Reg. I loved the latest episode. It seems like all the stars were aligned as I have been reading Building a Second Brain and recently decided to move my analogue zk to Obsidian.
@jasondowns@thesiswhisperer Also, @thesiswhisperer was talking about sharing a vault and I recently discovered that you can, through obsidian publish. Best thing is there are whole vaults you can download and tweak to make your own. https://t.co/Fmx6DAgzjJ
@jasondowns@thesiswhisperer Me too! I dismissed it earlier as I used VSCode with FOAM (open source Roam) and found it way too distracting but Obsidian is way cleaner, stable, and easier.
@nmconnell Snorkelling the reef is a must but book when you get there as weather in December may prevent it. We had booked and the company would not refund, just provide a different experience, which were limited. We went back years later and happened to get out there and it was stunning.

@TracyWesterman I have been so shocked and saddened by some of the responses that you get on your posts. I guess it is not necessarily a shock to those who live it. It really is a disgusting way to treat people.
