SpaceX didn't buy Cursor for $60B.

They bought a call option.

$10B premium. $50B strike. 8 months to expiry.

We backed out the vol and it's a better deal than it looks like 🧵

Two weeks of crypto twitter has been one trade: a short on crude oil on Hyperliquid.

We wrote up the whole thing, from why the funding looked broken to the wallet that started it to what just happened on Saturday.

Semis are crashing. Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz. Tariffs just landed. Oil ripped 20%.

Everyone is asking: Is AI Cooked?

We went looking for the answer in the options market. What we found is more interesting than a yes-or-no answer.

A huge thank you to the dozens of users who have left feedback on Testnet over the past few days.

We’ve shipped many updates/new features already and will continue to incorporate you feedback.

And for the world’s sake, may our oil puts print 🫡

Perps were step one. Options are step two.

On-chain options for US500 and USOIL just hit testnet on Hyperliquid via @SynapseProtocol.

6 months ago you couldn't trade oil on-chain. Now there are perps on Markets and options on Hypercall. Same L1. Same assets.

The derivatives stack is assembling itself.

could be huge tbh

i was just complaining to @Wajahat yesterday that i want oil long exposure because it's blindingly obvious that the war is not going to end quickly, but i don't know if i can survive the orange man's market manipulation -- exactly when you need a non-path-dependent instrument (options)

i asked him where i can trade such options and immediately lost interest when he said "interactive brokers"

hyperliquid

@0xasrequired @Wajahat Exactly. We've published a pretty good visual on this here:

Think there are *so many cases* of wanting leverage without path dependence that this solves for.
