Daughter is picking GCSE subjects how many subjects do your schools do? My old school Stu took 11 which I thought was the norm. Here she can pick 8 seems low, she will be back in UK for 6thform/uni #edutwitter@ChatPhysics@chatbiology@ChatChemistry
@ChatPhysics@chatbiology@ChatChemistry I can get her up to 9 by teaching physics at home. But Eng lit is not a compulsory subject here (lang is) I know we are all science here, anyone got an idea how vital it is to accessing HE..?
@MarathonSmudge1@chris_dwyer1 Why stop? A class of 24 is a great size class! I've never managed to convince anyone to let me teach it, such a great subject!
@ParsonsPhysics @edmunds_dr I feel the same, but I moved abroad and the government won't let me have a work permit here. I won't say I'll never go back to it.
@STEMyBanda @ChatPhysics@edmunds_dr I did last year, it was my first time. Learnt a lot, needed support from our DT dept, they are fab. Competition day was a great day!
@STEMyBanda @titchabelle That's an amazing story! Defo needs a badge, my students (and staff) loved the @titchabelle STEM badges. I miss giving them out, although I left some so they can be continue to be given out!
I need a fig expert! Never owned or eaten figs, except in figs roll biscuits! Now I own this beautiful tree. Figs are bursting open on the tree (it rained for 20mins the other morning), but everything I look up, says these aren't ripe. Can I do anything with them?
This was my reading book during our journey across Europe. Loved it! As a scuba diver I love octopus and cuttlefish, but didn't know they lived 2 years, breed once and then die! The comparison on evolution of our nervous systems and theirs was fascinating!
As students wait for their #alevels2023 this morning, a reminder of the journey they have gone through the last few years...

@mxcharlier @doc_kristy Our student wore glasses and struggled with the over glasses goggles we had, so you may need to consider appropriate goggles for them too, we bought some that worked!
@mxcharlier @doc_kristy No, wasn't necessary for us, and wouldn't matter if things got broken, just RA for his safety. He did food tech with normal kitchen equipment, we just got very brightly coloured knives etc! He is fab and wanted very much to have the same as everyone else!
