Wishing my dear big sister, @mavisstaples, a very Happy Birthday today! Can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by sharing her strong and steady message of love, respect, justice and equality so powerfully espoused in this performance of her song, “Turn Me Around.”

However you are spending Easter, we wish you and your loved ones peace. Here is the Queen Of Gospel, Mahalia Jackson singing one of the most poignant Easter-themed Gospel songs “In The Garden” (also known as “I Come to the garden”)
Happy Easter 🐣💗
Well, it happened. My ticket to Australia for next Sunday was cancelled today, 24 hours after I moved out of my rental. Airline said no flights til February. How many more #strandedAussies will be left homeless and desperate because there is no clear system to help us get home?
Ebony Impact shares in the nation’s outrage over the murder of #GeorgeFloyd and the thousands of others whom were murdered during this country’s racist history! Black men and women should not be hunted and targeted just because of the color of their skin!! We are praying for this
60 people showed up for a choir practice earlier this month. 45 got sick. 1 has died.
A remarkable window into how contagious coronavirus can be, even when it appears nobody is symptomatic:

55 years ago, when a group of civil rights organizers crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge, they carried America with them. Today, let's honor that legacy by continuing their work to protect and exercise our foundational right to vote.
55 years ago today, we were beaten, tear gassed, and trampled by horses. I thought I saw death. I thought I was going to die. I don't know how I made it back, but I know we cannot rest. We cannot become weary. We must keep pushing and pulling and find a way to get in the way.
We were beaten, we were tear-gassed. I thought I was going to die on this bridge. But somehow and some way, God almighty helped me here. We cannot give up now. We cannot give in. We must keep the faith, keep our eyes on the prize.
With deep respect and love we acknowledge the passing of Ladysmith Black Mambazo founder Joseph Shabalala. His music is his legacy and we are forever grateful. https://t.co/JGBgHCjq1c

Emmett Till would be 78 today.
His mother, Mamie Till-Mobley,
ensured that the world saw how gruesomely her 14 year-old child was murdered.
Racism isn’t disagreement.
Families grieve. Communities mourn.
Dreams wither. Humanity suffers.
People perish.
Remember Emmett Till.
