A year ago today, a group of working class baristas organized the first unionized Starbucks store in the United States. In the span of one year, we went from ZERO unionized Starbucks stores to 270 and almost 7,000 union workers. #SBWU1YearStrong
Ordering food online? "There was an issue placing your order."
Paying for anything with a credit card? "We could not process your payment"
Want to read your textbook? "Sorry, we're offline for some unscheduled maintenance."
Reminder this Labor Day that unions didn’t win weekends and the minimum wage and an end to child labor and sick leave and more by being nice, or polite, or respectful. They won by fighting. They won by striking and struggling and being radicals.
And for those of you who don't know, dissociating really sucks. It's not a good state, it's very disorienting to not identify with any element of yourself
Have y'all just been able to like... think about other people this whole time? Without minimizing and dismissing yourself and your needs?? wtf why did nobody tell me this was an option
