When I hear “Crossings are down” stated as some sort of achievement. I think of a patient being discharged from hospital because their fever has dropped from 107°F to 104°F.
@benonwine She even points it out herself, you can only teach ‘white English/British children’ to be ashamed, a Pakistani child would never feel the shame of the British past.
If they feel ashamed and subsequently hate the country then they are wrong, but they are English.
@benonwine You inherit attachment to the country from your parents who in turn inherited it from theirs.
You’re more likely to inherit attachment to a foreign land if both your parents come from there.
Culture is of the people, not of the land.
@KonstantinKisin They’re right in a way though, if western education was better, these riots wouldn’t be happening.
The demand for brightly coloured hair dye would also be down.
@The5th_estateUK@jimmytwhu As I said, for 35 years he has become a skilled merchant of opposition. Whenever he has come close to crossing the line he’s bailed.
I trust my gut. He’ll stand down prior to a GE, chaos will ensue. If no Restore around then conservatives will clean up.
@The5th_estateUK@jimmytwhu My opinion. Farage doesn’t want to be PM, he loves the chase but doesn’t have the desire to shoulder responsibility. He’ll stand down before any GE and there’ll be a chaotic leadership battle that will end Reform. Too much diversity of opinion in the generals under the Emperor.
@The5th_estateUK@jimmytwhu Everything every party says is propaganda until they get into power and then we see if they follow through. The question is, who do you as an individual believe?
Restore voters have more evidence that those in Reform can’t be trusted to deliver. Feels like Boris 2.0.
@firasmodad Why do employers make people interview to fill vacancies? All of the applicants will be from the same area so there is no difference between them, employment should just be first come first serve surely?
@Raggettyjon@cillianblack I think too much emphasis is placed on legality. Law is not innate or infallible. They are a construct. Confining yourself to the laws created by those whose goals are to see your erasure is not a game I want to play. I’m not saying break them, I’m saying change them.
@Raggettyjon@cillianblack The problem being you use the pronoun ‘we’ and therefore speaking for a group, a group you can’t define. So who is ‘we’? You’ll say “The English” and then those of foreign decent will say “I’m English and I’m not talking about who shouldn’t be here”
Do you see the problem?
@TheAliceSmith@FUDdaily Who feels more like 'us', Australians or Americans? Most say Australians, the country with far higher % of English ancestry. Culture follows bloodlines, not birthplaces.
