When people talk about "atrocities in Lebanon," they need to be specific. Sorry, but not all Lebanese are targeted, and some are out here living completely normal lives. Here's the reality: this war is overwhelmingly, disproportionately happening to the Shia community.
Trois explosions viennent de secouer la banlieue sud de Beyrouth.
Le chef d’état major de l’armée israélienne vient d’annoncer avoir donner l’ordre de frapper le Hezbollah en profondeur.
The black flag was raised above the Razawi dome for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (as), which falls on the 23rd of Dhul Qi’dah according to some narrations.
You know, the hardest thing about Israel dropping 100 bombs in less than 10 minutes on a crowded area is finding some of your own countrymen justifying it. Fascism and hatred run deep in this country, simply because you belong to a different religious community.
Stop extending uncritical grace to foreign journalists operating in this country on the basis of some vague metaphysical conviction that their intentions are inherently benevolent. This reflexive trust creates openings for the infiltration of communities that have already been subjected to relentless targeting and surveillance by the US and Israel. This behaviour is actively exposing vulnerable populations to tangible and irreversible harm.
What is often framed as goodwill or solidarity is, in reality, rooted in a persistent insecurity; it is rooted in a belief that native voices lack legitimacy unless validated by external intermediaries who possess far less familiarity with this land and its people.
The consequences of these attitudes are material and borne by communities that have already paid an unbearable price. Lives have been lost, and networks of trust have been repeatedly compromised, resulting in death.
Material consequences must take precedence over speculative feelings about intent or so-called goodwill. Good intentions do not mitigate risk and they cannot absolve the structural harm that can arise from careless access to our communities and uncritical exposure that can put them in the line of direct fire. Enough has already been lost.
I cannot comprehend the Lebanese who are committed to staying in denial about Israel’s territorial ambitions in Lebanon.
Is it blind hatred of Hezbollah and/or Shias?
Is it a desire to be accepted by the American-led west (never gonna happen, you are NOT white)?
The Israelis are telling you they hate you and want to steal your land and start a civil war in your country as they bomb your civilian infrastructure.
What more do you need to understand this is a war on you, whether Hezbollah exists or not?
