Statement from Marion County Clerk Kate Sweeney Bell on the injunction blocking Indiana’s law banning students from using student IDs to vote:
“This is a win for student voters, and a repudiation of the relentless attack on voters of Indiana. Our poll workers will welcome student ID’s issued by state colleges in Indiana as valid proof of identification for voting.
“There are people who are working to silence the voice of younger voters, and this part of the law was an attempt at that. I will continue fighting each and every day to ensure every eligible voter in Marion County has access to the ballot.”

BREAKING: @Women4ChangeIN on a federal judge’s decision to block a state ban on student IDs as voter IDs:
“This ruling is a critical step toward protecting voting rights in Indiana. Laws that make it more difficult for eligible voters to participate, particularly young adults, undermine the strength of our elections and our communities.”
The group is one of the plaintiffs that sued @SOSDiegoMorales over the ban. The Office of @AGToddRokita says the office intends to appeal the judge’s decision.

Statement from Josh Montagne, the IU student who is suing @SOSDiegoMorales over a recent state law banning the use of student IDs as voter ID:
“I have voted in Indiana three times using my student ID, because I don’t have an Indiana driver’s license or other qualifying ID. Senate Bill 10 singles out students like me and makes it harder for us to vote, despite zero evidence that allowing student IDs at the polls has led to even one case of voter fraud. I’m glad the court recognized that students are not a threat to election integrity—we are part of the community, and we deserve the same opportunity as every other Hoosier to have a say in elections.”
A federal judge blocked the state from enforcing the law earlier this week. A spokesperson for the Office of @AGToddRokita says the office intends to appeal the judge’s decision.

BREAKING: Count US IN, one of the plaintiffs who sued @SOSDiegoMorales over SEA 10 (2025), on a federal judge’s decision to block that law:
“This ruling is a victory for every student in Indiana who could have lost their right to vote because of Senate Bill 10. This law was never about election integrity– it was about silencing the voices of young Hoosiers who want to hold their elected representatives accountable at the ballot box. Count US IN will continue fighting to ensure that every young voter in Indiana has a chance to participate in the political process. Our voices matter, as this ruling demonstrates.”

"I can say if you are in the institution, you do not have a phone. Sometimes you do not know what day it is. You do not have access to vote and you can miss out on a lot of important things related to civic engagement." - @JRadziminski_ of @CountUsIndiana
If your funding doesn’t support civic participation of disabled people, it’s not inclusive or intersectional.
