The Vanderburgh, Posey, Gibson and Warrick SWCD’s have a 3 year pollinator grant. Please complete the application and return to your local SWCD ASAP if you are able to meet the specs in the app, for a spring seeding. You may also do a frost seeding.

When my grandpa was young, corn might not be back in the same field for 7 years. One thing I took away from the was the need to build a diverse rotation. That broke up disease and insect problems.

A couple observations listening to @CoverCropNC at the 2022 Soil Health Expo in Princeton, IN
1) His soils are kind of tough - like a lot of S IN soils.
2) When he puts up Agronomic and ROI slides up, so do phones in the audience.
Jewelweed blooms from July to the first frost in September or October and has beautiful orange flowers that are pouch-shaped with red spots. The nectar found in the bright and showy flowers are highly attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies, and a variety of native bee species!
