When you apologize, don't forget empathy.
Instead of a hasty "I'm sorry, BUT..." change it to a Quick Apology - with Empathy:
1. Name what you did.
2. Empathize. Name the consequences for your spouse. 3. Say - out loud - "I'm sorry."
"Make allowance for each other's faults"
Empathy means identifying with your spouse and understanding them from the inside. "Look over their shoulder" and see and feel the world from their point of view! "Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep."- Romans 12:15 #CoupleTalk#Couplescommunication

Core Concerns are the main feelings, concerns, and desires about the issue. They are answers to the question: What needs to be in the solution to make you happy or feel satisfied? "Do nothing from selfishness, but with humility regard one another as more important." #CoupleTalk
Daily "Check-Ins" keep you connected "Hang out" for a few min. Try not to have an agenda. Just check in with each other - take time to find out what's going on in your spouse's world. Do it when you can!

Are you getting better at...
