The COVFIT study is no longer recruiting new participants. Please stay tuned to our website for study results, presentations and peer-reviewed publications ⬇️
@PaintedHorse14 @UofT For the pre-post analysis, we’d like at least a full year before (exactly as you said, to identify seasonal trends that exist in previous years). However, one of the analyses will be trends throughout the pandemic, so “a year pre-pandemic” isn’t required to participate
Have you had an #AppleWatch since before the #pandemic? Do you live in Canada? 🇨🇦

@NickMackx@UofT You don’t need to have had COVID to participate! We’re looking at how physical activity changed during the pandemic compared to before. I’d love to expand to other wearables but needed to restrict to one for this project due to $$ and time. I hope we can do so in the future, tho!
@BruceSNorstead@ESLSteveD@UofT Hopefully the results are interesting enough to justify $$ to expand to additional wearables in future. I’ve also tried my best to recruit as diverse a sample as possible across other domains (age, gender, etc.). Thanks for your feedback!
@BruceSNorstead@ESLSteveD@UofT Definitely. We had to limit to 1 type of device & chose AW due to popularity & larger range of baseline physical activity among users (vs. Fitbit/Garmin, which we expected were more popular among ppl active/trying to be more active). Unfortunately this limits economic diversity
Please consider helping out a graduate student with their doctoral thesis research project (approved by REB @UofT ) Timely study that may help us understand the impacts of the past few years in terms of physical activity 👇🏼
@ESLSteveD@UofT You had me scared for a second, lol. I’ll definitely reach out if we expand to Fitbit at some point in the future 😊 Thank you for the support!
Just 1 week left to go in this study's recruitment. If you're in Canada, and have been both alive and in possession of an Apple watch during the pandemic, please click through!

Please consider participating in this study that uses Canadian #AppleWatch data to examine changes in #physicalactivity through the #pandemic. Very user friendly data collection method. Took me less than 15 min!
