It was the first season of shirt sponsorships so maybe other away kits had sponsors already attached and as it was a tv game they needed another option? Strange though, likely not Admiral.

He needs to be given a fair chance like you hope anyone would be given. A lot of people are actually excited by the new coaching line up and his contacts and pull.

@awbuswell @hummel1923 As others have said, it’s the 1988-89 season, 2 subs were allowed then, they usually wore 12 and 14. So various players could have worn it. Each player normally had a preference for a long or short sleeve shirt, most chose short so probably narrows it down a bit more!
