On Wednesday, June 10, Mama Maisie was walking near Hawkes Pond in Saugus, Massachusetts, when an unknown man approached, picked her up and ran into a heavily wooded area.

Her foster mom chased him and called 911, but he disappeared.

Police, volunteers and strangers searched for Maisie for hours. Flyers were shared, businesses checked surveillance footage and social media helped spread the word.

The next evening, they received the devastating news that Maisie had been found deceased in a pond.

Maisie had already survived cruelty before being rescued, yet she still loved and trusted people.

Saugus Police are actively investigating. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Someone knows what happened.
