Great news! I have just been informed that one of the biggest, best, and smartest Retailers in America, Walmart, will be lowering prices, by a lot, at my Administration's request to celebrate our great Country's 250th birthday. Walmart will, in particular, be dropping the price for a pound of ground beef by almost 15%, among many other products. This is a huge deal for the many millions of Americans who, smartly, shop at Walmart, which is a truly patriotic Company who loves the U.S.A. My Administration is lowering prices that Joe Biden incompetently raised with the worst inflation crisis in history, a total disaster along with the Southern Border, the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, and many other failures. Just as I promised, Oil Prices are plummeting FAST, and Gas Prices at the pump are dropping too, just like egg and Prescription Drug prices which I am bringing down by historic levels. Walmart is stepping up in a big and bold way, and other Retailers should follow the lead of these absolute Patriots. Together, we will make America stronger and greater than ever before! The establishment of the United States Secret Service on July 5, 1865, marked a pivotal moment in American history. While many people today associate the Secret Service primarily with protecting the President and other national leaders, its original mission was to safeguard the nation's financial system. At the end of the Civil War, counterfeit currency was widespread, threatening the stability of the American economy. The creation of the Secret Service under the U.S. Department of the Treasury demonstrated the government's commitment to preserving public trust in the nation's financial institutions. Over the past 160 years, the agency's responsibilities have expanded significantly while remaining rooted in the principles of integrity, professionalism, and public service. Today, the Secret Service not only investigates financial crimes and cyber threats but also provides protection for the President, Vice President, visiting world leaders, and other designated officials. Their work often takes place behind the scenes, requiring extraordinary planning, vigilance, and dedication. The events of yesterday once again highlighted the professionalism of the men and women of the United States Secret Service. Their swift response in safely evacuating attendees, maintaining order, and ensuring that everyone could return for the President's remarks and the Independence Day fireworks reflects the calm judgment and preparedness that define the agency. Such moments remind us that effective security is measured not only by responding to emergencies but also by preventing greater harm while preserving public confidence. The dedication of the Secret Service is matched by the countless law enforcement officers across America who serve their communities every day. Whether protecting national leaders, responding to emergencies, investigating crimes, or ensuring public safety at major events, these public servants often work under immense pressure with little recognition. Their courage, discipline, and commitment deserve our gratitude and respect. As we reflect on this important anniversary, we honor the legacy of the United States Secret Service and all law enforcement professionals whose steadfast service helps protect the nation's institutions, safeguard its citizens, and uphold the values of security, justice, and the rule of law.
