As soon as Trump saw crude oil hit $119 this morning he panicked, changed the goals of Iran war and declared victory!

But don't be confused. This is NOT a victory for the United States and we are not anywhere close to the end of this conflict.

What did the US actually accomplish? Let's take a look:

- Iranians liberated by the US: 0
- Schoolgirls Massacred by the US: 170
- Ruling Khameneis Reduced: 0

Don't forget, Trump claimed Iran's nuclear capabilities were "obliterated" last June, only to flip flop and say Iran was one week away from launching a major attack.

You can trust nothing from this administration.

The shameful scenes in Parliament yesterday, where ruling class parties and politicians united to defeat even a symbolic call for a ceasefire to prevent further genocide is as unsurprising as it is shameful.

This act, flying in the face of massive popular support and public action, is another black mark on British imperialism and the sham of ‘democracy’ under capitalism.

But it only serves to underline the need to strengthen the developing mass movement for peace. We got rid of Braverman and we can sweep away Sunak and Starmer too.
