@CIAT_ has invested huge resources into developing waxy (amylose-free) starch #cassava varieties. Though they appear to be CMD-susceptible, the great news is that Waxy1 seems to have the recovery phenotype, with symptoms disappearing on upper leaves

Under severe virus pressure, variety CMR89 (Centre) has become 100% infected, but incidence in both Rayong 72 (left & right) & KU50 is low suggesting they have some resistance. Key control tactic, therefore will be to bulk clean material of these two
