@hvonvestra Edelgard gets to be a hypocrite as a treat. She makes a big point in CF of not getting why people continue to fight when the situation is hopeless, then fights to the bitter end herself every other route. It’s low key one of my favorite parts about her.

@Pimmycakez I can totally relate. My brain would rather see the world end than start an easily achievable task. Starting small and trying to build it into a habit helps, but I’ve had mixed results with that too. Youre not alone, at least!

@Lys44741 @GoldenFatalis CF is very rushed, and I think it’s led to a lot of the discourse in the fandom, but what I think it’s trying to do is position Edelgard in a more confidently heroic role. Yes, Edelgard does a lot of bad things, but so does Dimitri. both characters get to be heroic despite that.

@GoldenFatalis An understated element of Edelgard’s character is that the degree she cooperates with the Agarthans depends on the route. In CF, because she trusts her allies, she is far less willing to enable them, which significantly changes the nature of their relationship.

Been seeing more 3H discourse on the timeline, and while I think everyone is entitled to like or dislike any character/route they want, I’m so sick of the willful misinterpretation people do in order to twist any character/route’s plot into the “bad ending” when there is none!

@fortayee I think 3H fans tend to judge characters for being their worst selves, not remembering that there���s an entire character arc after that where they try and fix themselves. I guess it’s because in 3/4 routes they don’t improve (or 4/4 if you don’t read their supports), but still.
