@nzherald As a career coach assisting many through redundancy and career transition I totally get and appreciate the emotional roller coaster Paddy is on right now. However, he is in no lesser position. If funding is an issue, then like any other business or NFP he has to make his case.

@stevenljoyce I suggest everyone take the time to listen to the tone of voice of the TMO when he discussed infringements. It was that of a very young child ‘telling on’ their sibling. A certain thrill of being able to find fault. It wasn’t that of a level objective judgement.

@BibBob47582291 @hamishpricenz What defines ‘working class’? As far as I’m aware, most New Zealanders ‘work’. In my experience those earning 100k plus pa might only work one job, but they work very long hrs with zero overtime benefit. I think it’s time to move on from this archaic Victorian term, but what?

@DionneL35689211 @nzdrewster There policy is that any vehicles not taxed at source (i.e. at the pump) will, like diesel, pay RUC. Surely when you use the roads you are ok to pay for it?
They are carrying through with Labour Party policy. Nothing new.

@MorganGodfery Why? What, other than more tax, did she deliver that contributed to productivity, growth, housing and a united country? I acknowledge her handling of ChCh and gun legislation. I really want to know - why?

@gingerandmilo What was that song by the Eagles? Desperado? On the scale of chaos, the Nats are down at the noise level compared to Labour. Trouble with Labour is they don’t have anyone to replace - who is it again. Mr Bread and Butter? At least National has some talent when/if required.

@JulieAnneGenter just confirmed on national television Green party will abandon northlanders, refusing to provide sustainable infrastructure to connect whanau, commerce and health providers. Electric vehicles need safe, reliable roads too.

@williamson_nz Not necessarily a fan of Kiri, however you probably need to consider her ‘state of mind’. Mental health issues often impair one’s ability to reason. The bigger question is irrespective of whether Kiri was “passionate about returning” it’s the PM’s decision. Poor judgement? Yes!

#Roading in #northland #newzealand has been neglected by successive governments. @nzlabour @KiriAllanEstCst said the Labour Party have no plans to connect northland with sustainable roading, & deliberately lapsed consents.

@chrishipkins you and @KiriAllanEstCst made it perfectly clear at opening of Puhoi/Warkworth Highway that as far as connecting Northland is concerned, there is nothing in it for Northlanders. So your slogan rings hollow indeed!

Are you aware of the plight successive governments have forced on Northland though lack of investment - what will you do about it?

@KiriAllan When are you going to do your job and connect Northland. Saying you have no plan beyond Warkworth is appalling. Successive governments have ignored poverty and inequity, fostering gangs through a lack of belonging. Your words at the ‘opening’ of Puhoi motorway were astounding!

@stevenljoyce makes great points here. I was appalled that the PM had the audacity to ‘open’ the link when it was his party that voted against it. Worse, several months into an election campaign and @chrishipkins / @KiriAllan still have no vision to connect northland. Just words
