Enjoy this snowy scene to celebrate the winter solstice. What works of art conjure up winter for you? #firstdayofwinter [Charles Burchfield, "Winter Solstice in the Village," 1923, pen and brush and black ink with watercolor, charcoal, and graphite on paper]
@ayesuppose If you're adventurous, you can put it in chocolate cake/cupcakes.... works pretty much the same as putting mayo in.
And then give the cake to guests!
*jazz hands, retreats into the bushes*
@anne_theriault Also, if you need some luck if you're anywhere near Boston, the white squirrels are in the Public Garden and near the Children's Hospital.
@darrylayo When I gave two weeks' notice to a part-time job, they seriously sat me down and acted like they were doing me a favor by honoring the two weeks.
Like.
For real.
@RebelWheelsNYC Porch Pirates!
I've known people who've gotten security cameras because of them.
And I adore this video. How many entitled mofos are straight out ANGRY that they got tricked? love the spray deterrent, that was clever.
@JoanofDarkKnits As a veteran, I agree with your husband.
It's also very weird to get thanked for serving. It's usually people who've never served for whatever reason, and they feel weird about it. They're wholly hero worshiping until I tell them I'm progressive.
@AstroKatie @genlyai_ For every early riser article, there's also one about staying late at work..... which leads to us early risers getting a heap of flack about when we're walking out of the office at 3 pm.
Let's all get together and focus our efforts on management's expectations of 24/7 work?
@nicodelort Also.... vegetarian with more than the three standard options!
-margherita
-garden (peppers, onions, mushrooms)
- cheese (which is just margherita without the basil)
