Maybe I'm oversimplifying, but Philip sometimes scares me. He only has eyes for So-ran; nothing else matters. That obsession can leave him cold and cloud his judgment, with truly devastating consequences...

the way he broke seeing her trembling hands, dΒ‘ed thousand times inside, regretting why didn't he do better and then gave that murderous glare to him, like "how dare you mistreat my woman"; hideo was abt to beat that mfπ

Also from Hideo's pov Gakyung revealing anything to Philip would bring harm to her. I mean his father or that chief inspector won't even think twice to frame her as a spy (which she actually is) So I think he said those things out of concern as well.
Not trying to invalidate anyoneβs feelings nor blindly defend why Hideo said what he said to Gakyung after he rescued her from the prison, but isnt it obvious that he said those things NOT because he genuinely worried Gakyung will reveal what happened to Philip? Most probably he was told by his Dad to convey those to Gakyung. Like you can literally see how he actually didnt want to say that to her. And I mean, a character isnt always written black and white, itβs multidimensional, background arcs and drama context also matters. More over Hideo/Taewoong charactersβ arcs already shared to us few times already, so these kind of misunderstanding where the characters hide their true feelings WILL happen.
